Joanne Welcomes “Greener Homes” for West Green in Haringey

As part of the Homes Energy Efficiency Programme (HEEP), the GLA, LDA, London Councils, Energy Saving Trust and Haringey Council, have started a project in West Green to help residents make their homes “greener”.

A number of residents in the area will be written to by the council in the coming weeks and offered a free home energy check. An energy expert will then visit the homes to install some energy saving measures, offer advice on how to cut your utility bills and let you know if you qualify for any grants or discounts for energy saving products.

Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, said: "I am delighted that the residents of West Green will be one of the first to benefit from this scheme to cut energy use in the Capital. Once the scheme is rolled out across London all residents in Enfield & Haringey will have a chance to benefit."

You can contact your local Energy Saving Trust advice centre on 0800 512 012 or visit www.energysavingtrust.org.uk  to get advice on how to reduce energy use in the home.
